Individual Therapy

I offer individual therapy for young adults, adults and seniors.  I treat a wide range of issues, and look to build a collaborative, person-centered alliance.  We will work together to figure out what the underlying issues are and how to build solutions together that work.  We will use assessment to help understand the process of change and so we can make adjustments to meet your needs.

To determine availability, please contact me at the Contact WPS form on the home page for this site. If this is an emergency, please contact 911.  A national suicide hotline is also available by calling or texting 988.

Group Therapy

I offer groups that focus on building adaptive relational skills based on pre-assessment of what interpersonal issues are most impactful for you.  The approach, called focused brief group therapy, is best for people who identify that relational issues may be causing them distress in their lives and are motivated to learn new skills that give them more options. The approach is evidence-informed, using measurement-based care and group process to help group members learn about themselves, attempt changes in real time and support each others' growth.

I offer these groups for both clients and as a training group for therapists.

Good Faith Estimate

Good faith estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE) explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. At Whittingham Psychological Services this might include costs for services such as extra assessment tools and measures if they are not included in the prior, agreed-upon cost of therapy. You are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your appointment or service (for example if completing an assessment remotely). You can also request Whittingham Psychological Services give a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

Disclaimer This Good Faith Estimate shows the costs of items and services that are reasonably expected for your health care needs for an item or service. The estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate was created. The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You could be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur. If this happens, federal law allows you to dispute (appeal) the bill.

What this means in practice:  Until I do an evaluation and we start therapy, I can’t really predict how long therapy will take, but I typically see patients for around 10 to 20 sessions. However, some of my patients have more complex issues that may require as many as 30 or more sessions during the time frame of this Good Faith Estimate. I also use assessment tools to aid in the healing process in my therapy practice, and most are included in the normal price you pay for each session.  If there is an extra cost for a specific measure, I will explain why I think that measure is important or useful, ask your permission and then let you know the cost, before we use them.  If you do not wish to use the measure, just let me know. On occasion, and only under certain circumstances, I might refer clients to other services, such as psychiatry, primary care physicians, or other health service providers.  The GFE for Whittingham Psychological Services does not include what these referral sources might charge you.  Please check with any provider regarding their charges.
